Mari Hill

Mari Hill, a superb vocalist, was from Harrisburg PA. I don't remember how we met, but she eventually recorded a few songs at my studio (including one of my songs) and also some jingles.

The first two tracks below were recorded in June 1986 at my home studio on South Market Street in Mechanicsburg PA.

I arranged, produced, and played all the instruments on these songs.

I wrote "Blue Skies."

Joe Russo, a friend (also from Harrisburg PA), wrote "The Only Heart."

In 1987, Mari was singing in a local band which was featured in a local event. To promote the event, the track we recorded was played on the FM radio. A big deal in those days.

All instruments were recorded via MIDI, using music sequencing software on a Commodore 64 computer. A sub-mix of instruments was transferred to an 8-track reel-to-reel tape recorder. Vocals also recorded on the 8-track.
